The expo edition!  I got to talk to Brayden Lancaster about his expo experience.  From the mental process to the handshake!  From were he began to were he is now.

“I am Brayden Lancaster from Battletown, Kentucky! I am a current sophomore at Lakeland college, I am majoring in pre-veterinary medicine along with being a member of the livestock judging team. I first started showing in 2011 when I was introduced by dad who showed whenever he was in 4-H.”

“I have shown at The Exposition for several years. This show has not only held a special place in my family’s heart but has been at the top of our goals for a very long time! The large numbers combined with its top-notch quality make this show second to none!”

“The process of getting prepared for a show of this size simply comes down to going the extra mile when at home; make sure every little detail is perfect, keep the animals as your TOP priority, and always find a way to make something better.”

“My advice to other showmen would be to never let today define what happens in the future. If you drown out the noise, stay humble, keep faith, and keep grinding then good things will come.”

“I’ve had numerous people who have supported me throughout the years and have played a role in getting me where I am today. Blake Danner being one of them, my family told him our goals a long time ago after that he has hustled day in and day out to make our wildest dreams become reality. With that, the people who have supported and pushed me the most would be my parents. No matter what adversity we have faced in the past they never once gave up or lost hope, my dad and mom are the reason I was able to experience this surreal moment.”

“While in the show ring it was a total adrenaline rush, the nerves and excitement combined were something I’ll never forget. The only clear thought that crossed my mind was I needed to say a prayer and hope that we could accomplish this goal we have chased for many years. The moments following the grand drive were a blur between the tears, hugs, and high fives it was hard to process what had happened; but as the night went on and the dust settled it was clear to me that we had accomplished a feat I believed was truly impossible.”
