Broken T Photography, is owned by Brady Tracy. He started Broken T Photography in July of 2022. Brady had a love for photography in the ring and out, as his show career came to an end he wanted to still be involved in the industry while doing what he loved.

“My name is Brady Tracy, I am the Photographer and Owner of Broken T Photography.”

“I started taking pictures from my phone when I was little. I began getting more into it when I was gifted my first camera and later I then bought my second camera. You can find me either taking pictures, in the ring, at a boutique, or with new friends capturing every moment. I was always very interested in photography at a young age and started taking pictures of my friends just for fun, until about a year ago. I started to get very serious about it and continued to build my brand.”

Brady showed cattle most of his ten years in 4-H. He was raised in this industry, and plans to continue to make his own path.

“I showed not only in Indiana but also all around the country. With being raised in the cattle industry, I wanted to still be involved in any sort of way but with my own twist.”

Starting a business is not easy but in this industry finding your own path and making it can be difficult.

“Starting a business in the livestock industry is not easy because of the amount of amazing people that have built their brand from the ground up. I have always seen myself as a solo person when it comes to photography. Although, I do love working for other companies and people within the livestock photography world. I have developed a keen liking to not only how photography affects me but also other people. I love to share that experience with everyone at any time.”

Brady is finishing his associate degree in Ag and plans on going to another Ag college to study Ag marketing. He hopes to help expand his skills in marketing. Brady not only takes these amazing pictures but has made some incredible videos as he has found that his creativity can be shared not only for photos but videos.

“When we see any business, which doesn’t have to be a boutique or a jewelry business, we see that they have something to do with photography or videography. In any sort of way any type of marketing incorporates a form of what I love to do. I’ve gotten the amazing chance to share some photos and videos from some popular companies like, The Solo Cowboy, Star Leather & Co., and SB Jewelry Co. And that is just the start to many more to come for Broken T.”

“I’ve always been the type of person who, if I want something, I can do it on my own.”

Like any business it’s hard to find your audience and the people that love and appreciate what you’re doing. Brady feels like Broken T, has faced that but he has continued to find his people and hopes to continue to share his creative work with people who love his photos just as much as him.

“As a Business owner and Photographer it can be hard at times to find your audience that you’re looking for. Some days are harder than others but in the end any picture I get to take I love to share with what I have captured.”

I asked Brady if there was a picture that made him set back and go woah. Brady said there wasn’t a certain photo that stunted him but he gets excited about the small detailed picture which are personally my favorite too.

“But I will say I get really excited when I get to edit the small detailed pictures that people don’t think about when shooting for a bigger picture.”

“It’s hard to know what is going to happen in the future, but as long as I get to keep doing what I love and meet new people. I will be happy with any outcome the future has in store for me.”

“Take your time and learn from your mistakes.”

Brady has been growing Broken T, for a long time and understands some of the struggles as not only a young business owner but a young photographer.

“You’re not going to be perfect right off the bat. There’s going to be stressful days and there’s going to be amazing days. Take time to learn from others and stay determined for the future. Little me would never believe the amazing opportunities photography has brought.”

I asked Brady what his biggest piece of advice was. This is what he said:

“It’s okay to not know.” What I mean by saying that is that if you do not know certain things don’t get discouraged. I didn’t know anything about photography until I asked others.”
