“Hi, my name is Charlee Jones. My family owns and operates Jones Show Cattle, where we sell high-quality show cattle across the country.”
Charlee has been involved in showing since day one. She started with sheep, but as she got old enough, she chased her dream and started focusing on showing cattle.
“I have been in the livestock industry my whole life. My show career has been nothing short of amazing. I have been blessed with a great crew that helps me show cattle at a high level.”
As Charlee continues to show, and after her show career is over, she hopes to be involved in influencing the next generation.
“My goal is to get more involved with helping young showmen. I also hope to be an encouraging influence to the next generation.”
Last September was when Charlee-she brought home the Grand Champion Steer at NAILE.
LEO
“When Leo came to my house, I fell in love with him. But I knew he was supposed to get sold down in Texas, so I didn’t get too attached. I had the opportunity to show him a jackpot. After that, I decided there was no way I was going to get rid of Leo-so me and my mom convinced my dad to keep him. Fast forward 14 months later… he was winning NAILE! That was the best decision I have ever made.”
Winning NAILE was a dream come true for Charlee. From the anticipation to the handshake, Charlee was hoping Leo would sneak in the top 5.
“Winning NAILE meant so much to me. My months of hard work paid off and made the win even sweeter. My goal going into Louisville was to make the top 5. I knew that there were a lot of good steers going through that ring. The thought that I would maybe get lucky enough to get the top 5 was crazy. Coming out on top and winning the show was definitely a dream come true.”
This win was everything to Charlee and her family. They all worked their butts off day and night to make everything come together.
“It was a very emotional win for the whole crew. A lot went into this win. Lots of late nights, early mornings in the barn, and long hours in the cooler working hair. My mom and dad helped out a ton! When I was in volleyball and was gone 3 nights a week, without them this win would not be possible”
Nothing would be possible without Charlee’s parents and team.
“My biggest supporters are definitely my parents, Brandon and Cathay. My sister Chandler as well as Todd Caldwell, John Choate, Olivia Caldwell, Whitney Andras, Cole Caldwell, Wade Knobloch, and Andrew Jark have all helped me whenever it is needed. They are the reason I succeeded.”
“Never let anyone out work you. “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” (Tim Notke) I apply this to everything I do whether it’s in the barn working on steers or on the volleyball court.”
