Country Contour photography is owned by Justine Figueroa.
Based in Oregon, Justine has always been a part of the livestock industry and hopes to continue helping and grow this industry.
- “Hello, my name is Justine Figueroa . I’m a vet tech by trade , and I own a photography business. I was born and raised in Southern Oregon. I have always been a part of the Ag / livestock industry from the beginning . I was raised on a very large dairy farm in Bonanza Oregon, I was active in ffa and 4-H. And showed dairy heifers all throughout middle and high school.”
- I asked Justine where her passion for photography came from and what inspired her to start this business.
“I have always loved taking pictures for as long as I can remember. Back when I was a teenager, I would spend what little money I made from chores to buy disposable cameras just so I could take pictures. In 2010, I finally saved enough money to buy my first nice camera. I spent the weekend at my cousin’s Heifer sale and show, taking pictures. It was called “run with class” . The images I took that weekend started the passion I had for livestock photography.”
- Since then, Justine has continued to build and expand her business, capturing incredible highlights and lasting memories for clients.
- “I feel like a highlight for me would be getting to provide memories that last a lifetime. “
- “I feel like a moment I will never forget was when I was hired to cover the Western States Hereford Show in Reno, NV. I remember feeling like ‘OK , I’m creating a name for myself!”
When asked who has continued to help and support her on her journey, Justine’s answer was simple:
“My mom. She is my biggest cheerleader, and she takes pictures right alongside me for my business.”
Justine leaves us with this:
“My biggest piece of advice would be to do what sets your soul on fire. It may not be for everyone, but long as you’re happy and you love what you do, that’s all that really matters.”
“I feel like a picture is great, but taking videos is honestly so fun! It’s amazing to have that memory forever, and to be able to watch that moment in time forever, and relive it, and love it. “
And the moment she wishes she could go back to is this:.
“If I could pick a time to go back to , I would go back to that weekend that it all started for me. I would make sure to remind myself that there will be challenges along the way, and to remember l that the girl I dreamed of being, I am her now. It’s all worth it! “
