Cowgirl Market is known for being the biggest event for every small business. The Cowgirl Market has been one of the most went to events in 2025. From there market in Stillwater to Texarkana in November. You can find all of our favorite businesses at Cowgirl Market. The founder of Cowgirl Market is Taylor Kelner. From a vision she saw to the insane event it turned into.
“Hi ,my name is Taylor Kelner. I grew up in southwest Arkansas. I went to school at OK State University and graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in agricultural communications. I came up with the idea of Cowgirl Market while I was in college.”
From the ground up Taylor has built Cowgirl Market. Taylor realized that there wasn’t a place that you could go and shop at a small business. She saw that there hadn’t been an event that brought these small businesses together and really promoted them.
In 2023 the first Cowgirl Market happened in Stillwater they had 17 vendors. Cowgirl Market was a hit and kept on growing. The next cowgirl market had 20 vendors and this past month the Cowgirl Market in Stillwater had 90 vendors.
“I took a chance and started my vision. I did so much to make the first Cowgirl Market from reaching out to vendors to finding a spot to do it at. I made that one happen and I had so much fun I met so many people. But after the second one I had so many people it became a little hard.”
“Do the best you can.”
Taylor knew her strengths and weaknesses and knew she needed help. She knew the rent and set up would take a lot of not only money but time. So she found her people to help and found a way to pay for the rent of facilities and help with the set up.
“With these issues came my solution to create a vendor fee and a way to buy tickets.”
Taylor had a leap of faith and took a chance on her vision; everything like she said was “on the fence”. Taylor found away and has continued to create Cowgirl Market into the incredible event it is today.
Taylor has created an amazing system that makes the Cowgirl Market run smoothly and effectively. To help bring all these small business owners’ visions to other people.
“To be a vendor there’s a fee that you pay for your spot. There is also a cut off date, depending on the location you’re wanting to be a vendor at. The location you’re wanting to go to also depends on how big of a spot you can get. I will email you all the info 2-3months before. I like to do vendor spotlights on all of the Cowgirl Market social platforms to let everyone know you will be at Cowgirl Market!”
When Taylor moved back to Arkansas from Stillwater she decided to expand and do another Cowgirl Market in Texarkana Arkansas. As the cowgirl market expands Taylor says “it has continued to grow and it has encouraged me to keep going.”
“We were super excited to bring it home to Texarkana.”
Taylor is a busy women with Cowgirl Market, but she also owns many other business like Top Hand Media.
“I work from home but as a business owner I have a full time job. Top Hand Media is where I help bring your business marketing to life. Whether that is an oil, construction, beef, or ag business. At Top Hand Media we do the marketing. We all have strengths and weaknesses and mine is marketing.”
“Top hand media takes care of your advertising keeping your brand consistent. Consistency is a brand term and is key when advertising your brand.”
Taylor not only runs a marketing business but markets her business. So, I asked her what she thought was key to good marketing.
“Fall in love with quality things. With that being said, when marketing I always make sure you have quality over quantity. Being consistent when posting is good but if the marketing isn’t quality what’s the point?”
On top of Top Hand Media and Cowgirl Market Taylor also owns the Brand Podcast that focuses on talking to amazing women to share and teach so many career driven women. She also owns Southwest Magnawave. With all these business Tayor has learned so many amazing things about running a business.
“Treat every client like your only client.”
“Owning a business will teach you so much from learning from some fabulous mentors to realizing how to make my own way. I’ve learned so much, and to know that when you first start it may not always turn out how you first imagined It.”
Taylor is a busy woman and even though she works from home she still has a full time job and has the issue like many others of work life balance.
“I would say I do and I don’t have a good work life balance. With that being said I have a good routine working from 8 to mid afternoon most days. But I also would say my balance is not fabulous. I have the mentality of if you’re not working you’re not making money which is true. But, I will say you can have a good work life balance but it won’t always be perfect.”
Taylor leaves us with this:
“Take care of yourself, this is the only time in your life you can be selfish. And now it’s ok to step away. Sometimes I’ve had to step away from some things like my podcast the Brand Podcast because I couldn’t give it my all. Remember even if you step away you can come back.”
“You can do hard things.”
