Joe Endres is from Rosebush, Michigan. He started showing at age 7 and grew up on his family farm, where they own McConnell Farm Supply and a cash crop operation. He attends school in Mount Pleasant Michigan at Sacred Heart Academy where he plays football and golf.
“Every animal created my path for me.”
Desire, Dream,Vision.
Hard Work,Patience,Pride
His passion was discovered through showing pigs,he says “It isn’t just about ribbons — it is about discipline, care, and connection to the animals.”
“Every early morning feeding and late-night prep built my dedication to each animal.”
Through countless shows, long weekends, and endless hours spent in the barn. Joe has continued to follow his passion.
“Every handshake from a judge and every banner earned tells a story. While the unseen hours of hard work that make it all possible.
Joe has had many highlights, one that has stuck with him was winning Grand Champion Duroc, and 8th Overall in the Showcase at the Michigan Livestock Expo, with his pig Ace. “When we got her home from Dillon Sheiss, I knew she was going to be my best friend and my uncle Nick knew from the very first day that Ace was something extraordinary. That pig and I had a bond that came naturally.”
Behind every great showman is a great show team. For Joe, that team includes his mentor and uncle, Nick McConnell, whose experience and guidance have shaped him as a showman every step of the way.
“It’s a bond built on trust, shared values, and a love for the show ring.” Nick and Joe share a common philosophy….”Practice Like You’ve Never Won, Perform Like You’ve Never Lost.”
Other people that help him in his journey are his friends Maea Antrup and Micah Malcolm.
The early mornings, the late nights, the guidance from his uncle, the support of his family and his show team, and the pride of his roots. He’s living proof that champions aren’t born — they’re made. Joe’s mom says “He is ready for 2026.”
“Champions are made in the middle. That’s where the hard work and grit is. The part no one sees.”
