Seever Club Lambs, is based in Redwood Valley, California. Seever Livestock is run by Hailey Sever, Hanna Seever, Kyle Seever, and Delicia Seever.

“Seever Club Lambs is based out of Redwood Valley, California and is run by me, Hailey Seever, younger sister Hanna and parents Delicia and Kyle. Our goal is to produce quality, competitive show lambs and breeding pieces that not only excel in the show ring but in other people’s programs as well.”

Seever Club Lambs started from show ewes Hailey and Hanna had shown over their 15 years of showing. The past 7 years Haliey, Hanna, and their parents have really focused on raising high-quality sheep for them to show and sell.

“Every ewe in our string has either been shown by myself or Hanna, or is an offspring of those ewes. We consider every ewe we keep to be donor quality, as we maintain a small, carefully selected group of breeding sheep.”

For Seever Club Lambs something that has been key in their success is their focus on quality over quantity.

“We decided early on that quality would always matter more than quantity. Because we’ve always kept our numbers small, we know every ewe have to play a role in our operation.”

Seever Livestock first big highlight was in 2022 Supreme Champion Wether Dam Ewe in Show A & B at the Revival Show in California. For Seever this was the beginning before they started gaining momentum in their program. That ewe Peanut Gave the Seever family hope for the future.

“Seeing Peanut succeed gave us the confidence, and the drive, to keep investing in strong genetics. The results quickly followed.”

Seever Livestock also raised 3rd Overall Wether at Revival and the Bronze Medallion Wether at the California Youth Ag Expo in 2023. This past year they had the opportunity to sell a lamb to the Platt family out of Indiana.

“They won many Champion and Reserve titles with their lamb, Hollywood. He even competed nationally at The American Royal, placing top of his class.”

The Seever family, like everyone, views winning as a top priority. But for Hailey, Hanna, and their parents this is a long term process.

“We have always been intentional in what ewes we purchase, show, and keep for breeding. The genetics that we have chosen to invest in have been proven on the national stage. These decisions are important when trying to build something sustainable for the future.”

For Hailey and Hanna the biggest mentor they have had throughout their years of showing and raising lambs is Cooper Newcomb and Ty Allen ( Allen/Newcomb).

“All of our genetics have stemmed from their flock. Along with this, they also help us with breeding decisions, vaccine protocols, daily care and advice to ensure our lambs are healthy and looking their best. Through them we have also been able to expand our customer range when it comes to selling  lambs across the country. For example, having a lamb placed with a family in Indiana this past year, and them having great success. ”

When someone purchases a lamb or works with Seever Club Lambs they want them to walk away feeling fulfilled in their success, or by learning something from Seever Club Lambs.

“We want to help them along the road to success by sharing our knowledge of feeding, exercise and showmanship. Because our customer’s success is also our success.  We have been so fortunate to work with some of the best in the industry, it is important for us to pay it forward.”

When looking ahead some of the things Seever Club Lambs are most excited for is implementing the use of IVF and flushing in the program.

“This will allow us to raise high quality lambs while maintaining a smaller group of ewes. As Hanna gets older, we will be stepping away from being in the ring. This will lead to a new chapter of strictly breeding and selling lambs and helping customers in the ring instead.”

When looking back in a few years Seever Club Lambs want people to see how much they  gave back to the community. They want to always be a helping hand of support through all of the work.

“We understood what it takes and how much work it is to start from scratch. With this understanding our main goal is to always be a helping hand and support 4-H, FFA, and youth exhibitors in our area. We have been able to have great success on many stages, and it is the icing on the cake to be able to raise some that can hold their own against the best.”

“Focus on quality over quantity. It may be simple but extremely important. It is also important to have a mentor that wants to see you succeed, being there for every bump in the road. We not only have that, but also surround ourselves with people who always push us to be better. Whether that’s in the ring, or helping make decisions on how to grow your project forward. It’s not always pretty and it costs a lot of money, but there is absolutely no other way that we would have wanted to grow up.”
