tock Show Stories, owned and run by Abby Walters, is from Martinsville, Indiana. Where she goes to Franklin Community High School. Abby got into the industry through her family’s deep roots in the agriculture industry. Abby runs Stock Show Stories, a podcast where she talks to people in this industry about everything from talking about hair care on cattle with Nyah Lamb to talking to honoring tradition with Lane Holman.

“Hi, my name is Abby Walters. I’m 17 years old, and I show Hampshire lambs, and I’m the host of Stock Show Stories-and proudly serve as Miss Behind The Boots. Growing up, I was always surrounded by agriculture, and once I started showing, I fell in love with the work, the animals, and the community.”

Stock show stories started from an interview with a local sheep producer-to an idea to reach the young people in the industry.

“I was first inspired to start Stock Show Stories after I reached out to do an interview with a local sheep producer. One of my friends asked if I was planning to do anything with it, and when I said no, he told me I needed to turn it into something others could hear. That conversation really pushed me to take the leap.”

Abbys’ biggest mentor throughout the process of creating and developing Stock Show Stories has been her FFA advisor, Alicia Geesey. She has been a constant support system for Abby  and has helped her figure out how to create and grow a podcast.

“She’s walked right beside me through every step. As a show of constant support-just as the Bible verse I wear on my arm every day, Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Abby is excited for college and the some personal goals she set for herself. “I want to chase those.” But she also wants to continue to keep growing Stock Show Stories. She wants to connect to as many people as she can. “I truly believe in the mission behind it. I want to take it as far as I can.” Abby’s goal is to talk to as many people as she can and share their stories with a wider audience. “ I want the podcast to keep growing so that the voices I get to hear can be heard by everyone.”

Abby has learned so much through every person’s stories. But Abby has found a common theme: every person has the same top values. “I’ve learned so much through these conversations, but the biggest theme I keep coming back to, no matter who I talk to, is how much family matters and how important it is to surround yourself with the right people. It’s never really about the buckle or the banner. It’s about the people beside you and the memories you make along the way.”

“Have fun, and never take your opportunities for granted.”

Abby knows how easy it is to get caught up in the little things. Through show stock stories she has learned to value every moment. “ In high school and in the show ring, it’s so easy to get caught up in the little things. Through this podcast, I’ve accomplished a lot, but I’ve also learned the value of slowing down and soaking up every moment because it all goes by so fast.”
