Cade and Jamie Halfmann, have built a strong reputation in the industry, making their mark by raising high quality show goats and inspiring the next generation of livestock enthusiasts. Cade and Jamie have two kids Hayzen and Humble. The Halfmanns have created some amazing memories from creating a community that loves and appreciates their amazing show goats to winning Grand Champion Market Goat at the State Fair of Texas.

Both Cade and Jaime were born and immersed in the livestock industry. They both competed on National Champion Collegiate judging teams, where they found love for judging livestock and realized they wanted to continue in this industry.

Halfmann livestock is where Cade and Jamie continue to breed high quality show goats. Halfmann livestock originally started when Cade got out of college he was searching for a career in his passion. It made complete sense to raise show goats since Cade’s family was deeply immersed and involved in the boar goat business.

“When I graduated from college I had every intention of attending law school. As graduation approached my love for school and studying diminished and the goat deal was catching fire.”

When they got married they wanted to continue their judging careers and create something of their own. With Cade already having a young but established business in the goat industry, it made sense that when he married Jamie they decided that with their love for this industry, and the start of his business that they wanted to go all in, which is how Halfmann Livestock was established.

“So we put our heads down and went for it and Halfmann Livestock has been thriving ever since. Our judging careers started off small and as our experience and tenure in the business has increased, so has the number and notoriety of the judging gigs we’ve been fortunate to have been asked to do.“

Cade had a vision and believed in the future of his business and jumped in with both feet.

“Cade has a “no plan B” mentality and never doubted that he was capable of being successful and that the business, although in its infancy, was going to take off and mimic the explosion that other species had seen.”

When Jamie got with cade she saw the business and helped by bringing her family’s knowledge, contacts, and understanding of the livestock business, to make a difference and it’s been game on ever since.

But two of Cade and Jamie’s greatest accomplishments are Hayzen and Humble, they feel that everything they did at the start was for their kids’ show careers and journey even before they were born.

“We feel like everything we’ve done from the inception of our business was to give our kids every opportunity to reap the benefits of our involvement and knowledge of the industry.”

The Halfmanns have been very fortunate to have some incredible wins including Hayzens most recent win the Grand Champion Market Goat at the State Fair of Texas.

“We’ve been very fortunate to have some big wins as breeders, from national shows to Texas majors and everything in between. This year’s State Fair of Texas might be the cherry on top of an incredible journey because it was our daughter Hayzen’s first big banner at a Texas major. We know how incredibly hard this goal is to accomplish and to see the excitement and maybe more so the relief, that we finally knew we were capable of such an accomplishment. It was one of the coolest experiences this far for not only our operation, but more importantly for our family.”

The Halfmanns hope to continue to impact this industry by being able to encourage participation and give memorable experiences to kids.

“We hope that our impact on the industry is one of a positive way more than anything. If we can look back in our golden years and say that we encouraged participation, gave our customers a memorable experience for their family, and provided an avenue for them to raise their kids in such a manner that promotes agriculture, friendly competition, and provides an opportunity to be around like-minded people who provide an uplifting environment, then we’ve done our job.”

Cade and Jamie leaves us with this:

“Surround yourself with people that provide opportunities to elevate you. There are quotes and bible verses that speak to that and they always hit me the hardest. You’re a product of your surroundings. If you want to be the best hang out with and surround yourself with people that are in the position that you want to be.”

“Always do the right thing and surround yourself with good people. Reputation and character are two very important things in life.”
