The ring may teach you how to win and be humble and loose with grace. But the biggest lessons come from the animal that you take in the ring. Through their quirks and hard headedness. Looking back you will find each animal has taught you something. It may be patience, confidence, how to control your anger, or how much you love the game.

Ava Cravey found that for her the animal that taught her the most was her barrow zazu.

“He was the Grand Champion Barrow at Georgia Nationals in 2024 and Reserve Crossbred Barrow at Winter Nationals. Now he was definitely the ugly duck as a baby, nobody wanted him and matter of fact many people had the opportunity to get him. But this pig probably taught me the most about how to trust the process. I will never forget we showed him at least 4 times before Winter Nationals and if he wasn’t gated he was way down the line in placing. After that happened a few times I was so ready to call him. However my mom always told me I had to be patient. After a lot of faith, once we got to Winter National he wasn’t even the same pig he was a month ago. A few weeks later when he made his debut on the green carpet again, I knew no matter what happened we had already accomplished our goal! Looking back I am glad I listened to my mom and trusted the process! “
